Greetings everyone! Today I’m sharing another hot take cover song, this time by John Mark McMillan. I don’t remember why I learned it, but I’ve been playing it on and off for a couple years or so. I hope you like it. This picture is one I took a night or two ago of mine and my wife’s little boy. He’s actually an old man at 19! Because of the low light in that moment it looks almost like a painting and I loved that. Just had to share it with you. WHAT HOPE AFFORDS Life’s ladder lifts to where son disappeared Each rung love or loss Climb, climb, climb all you dreaming dears No matter the doves or dross Like roping the fire, consuming our strands Each silver cord vanishing in our hands What hope affords, what death demands We rise, we rise, our souls unland
