Greetings everybody. I thought I’d do something a little different and try my hand at a cover song for you along with a bit of writing I did this week. I hope you enjoy this hot take of a song by Bruce Springsteen as it has been one of my favs. As for the poem, I was struck earlier this week as I saw some pictures from friends of European countryside on Instagram and was considering how “other” the raw land is. Uncreated by man and untamed. In my writing I am pushing that theme up against the idea of humans in a similar vein: OTHERNESS The other world from all that’s finite unfurled The rolling hills with their green smile Unhorsed and unhoused Young and ancient Of worlds where everyone is never gone Shrouded in the night bird song My eyes are ever seeing My ears are ever hearing My heart is ever waiting between the beats To see you again for the first time Shine anew, love that I for so long have pined
