This week I chose to send along a live version of a song I recorded a few weeks back. My wife Heather and I played at our dear friend Samuel’s birthday per his request and it was a really wonderful time making a lot of new friends and playing songs I’ve written and songs we like. This one came out the best of all in my opinion so here it is! This is a song that is half about the conversations you’d like to have with someone that’s gone now and half about resurrection. In some ways I want to be young again and in some ways I will be young again. My wife and I have been on a week long vacation (literally just got back into town), and we’ve been listening to Patti Smith’s book Just Kids along the way. She’s recounting her life with Robert Mapplethorpe, who has passed now. I can’t help wondering if she feels the same.
